Hairline design at Prohairclinic – where artistic skills and experience meet

Where to start when designing a hairline?

First of all we listen to our patients needs and desires, that is key to success in the run.
Sabine, member of Prohairclinic since 2004, has been doing 99% of all the hairline designs at our institute, experience is guaranteed. She implements the artistic skills along with the technical details in order to get that perfect hairline. A perfect hairline however is very personal and also highly dependent on a lot of other determining factors such as age, donor management, level of hair loss and last but not least personal requests

Drawing that hairline on the scalp

A hairline design is ideally performed with outgrown existing hairs. This makes determining the implant area easier. Furthermore the density assessment is easier with existing hairs outgrown. Below the example of the design. The extra lines on the forehead are used for symmetry measurement.

Mapping the treatment area

The next step into hairline design and treatment preparation involves mapping the areas that need to be treated. This is ideally performed using a clear plastic sheet, copying the 3D model of the area. Attention, some patient try to measure their own area by mapping on pictures. These are NOT correct measurements since they do not consider that the head is a 3D object.

Using specialized hair transplantation planning software

The plastic sheet with the mapping read by a scanner and imported in specialized software for hair transplantation mapping and density calculation. This makes highly precise measurements possible and the computer will output the exact numbers required during the session.
After the treatment the area look reddish, typical of a high density implantation.

In this example 3244 grafts where placed in an area of 64.88 cm2 at 50 grafts per cm2.
