Here is a good picture of my donor area before my FUE session with dr. Ilter.
Looking carefully you can still detect the strip surgery scar which is now about 5 years old.

What about donor area shock loss after FUE hair transplantation?

Limiting donor shock loss during FUE treatments. Shock loss is often and mostly associated with the recipient area. However if FUE extractions are performed by untrained or inexperienced staff or surgeon it can lead to major problems. Basically there are 2 major issues that can lead to donor shock loss. Overharvesting: Too many attempts/extractions are performed, leading to sub skin scarring. This can lead to blood flow disturbance and as a consequence native (weaker) hairs may be lost (either temporary or permanent). Solutions: · use an intelligent extraction pattern and small FUE punches. · Experienced FUE staff will have little to virtually no failed attempts · Use of manual FUE technique will greatly limit tissue heat buildup which is often associated with high rotation electric devices. What about SMP or Scalp Micro Pigmentation combined with Hair transplantation?

Some patients have a large bald or balding area and not enough donor hair supply to cover the entire problem area. Maybe we have found a solution for these type of patients that would otherwise have a poor result because of very low density hair implantation. What would happen if we combine a fairly new technique called SMP ( scalp micro pigmentation ) with FUE hair transplantation.? First let's explain a bit about SMP. SMP is an extremely fine tattoo procedure where hair stubbles are immitated. Small dots of pigment are inserted just below the skin. For those wearing a very short hair style it gives a 2D illussion of hair. Here is an example where the patient was virtually completely bald and had SMP done to make the scalp look like it is covered with little stubbles of hair. Although the effect is very natural, it still lacks a 3d perspective. Therefore this patient opted to perform a low density hair transplantation in order to get a much better effect. ...
